Waxed canvas can go several years without being cleaned and requires little care. Do not wash. Do not dry clean. Hose it off if needed or spot clean with a damp cloth, then hang it to dry. Re-wax if needed.
This canvas requires little care, but can be spot cleaned as needed with a damp cloth. If it really needs a wash, you can hand wash the garment in a cold water bath using a mild detergent, then hang to dry. Duck canvas is 100% cotton, so it will shrink when washed. We recommend stretching out the garment while it’s still wet to decrease shrinkage, this helps to stretch the cotton fibers back out. Put one hand on the armpit seam and one hand at the bottom of the jacket and give it a stretch. Repeat this all the way around the garment, then hang dry.
Leather does not need a lot of care. But just like your own skin, leather needs to be moisturized from time to time. Depending on what elements your leather has been exposed to will depend on how often it will need conditioning. An occasional cleaning may be necessary as well.
Hand wash in lukewarm water with a gentle wool detergent. Lay flat to dry. Do not hang dry, do not ring out. Wash sparingly. Wool is naturally stain and wrinkle-resistant.
